If cancer's turned things upside down - yours, or someone in your family's - you might be wondering if a charity like this one is really for you. Here's a straight answer, in plain terms.
"Do I need a terminal diagnosis?"
No. We support people at any stage of a cancer diagnosis, and their families.
"Is this only for the person who has cancer?"
No. Partners, carers and children are included too.
"Will I have to pay it back?"
No. Every grant we give is a gift, never a loan.
Individuals, families and carers across central Scotland dealing with the practical, financial and emotional weight of a cancer diagnosis - whatever stage it's at, whoever in the family it's affecting. If cancer has you in a financial crisis - get in touch with us and if we can help, we will.
Financial help:
One-off, non-repayable grants for the essentials that treatment can derail: a broken boiler, a car repair so you can get to appointments, help with rent or bills when income drops, the costs that pile up during treatment or recovery.
Wellbeing support:
funding for counselling, complementary therapies and mental health support, for you or for whoever's caring for you.
How we decide:
Every application is looked at individually, based on your circumstances and what funding we have available at the time. There's no lengthy means-testing process before we'll even talk to you.
Getting to us:
Most people reach us through a trusted local partner - Maggie’s Forth Valley or it could be a social worker or family member. If you're not sure where to start, contact us directly. Professional referrals are welcome too, and everything you tell us stays confidential.
Practical support, financial relief, and emotional wellbeing for individuals and families affected by cancer.
