Chasing the Pyrenees... and Melting Along the Way

Day 5 – Arriving in the Pyrenees 🏍️⛰️

Today was the day I'd been waiting for since planning this tripI finally reached the Pyrenees.

Riding 402.7 km from Périgueux to Saint-Mamet via Mussidan, Laruns, and Pau, the scenery transformed from rolling countryside to breathtaking mountain views. Every bend brought another incredible vista and reminded me why motorcycle touring is so addictive.

There was just one challenge... the heat. Temperatures hit a brutal 38–42°C, turning every fuel stop into a water stop and making the ride feel like I was wearing a portable sauna!

Despite nearly melting, arriving at the foot of the Pyrenees made every kilometre worthwhile. Tomorrow, the real mountain riding begins.
