Day Eleven

Port Pirie to Port Lincoln.

Day 11 Boxing Day

Boxing Day greeted me with perfect riding conditions.

A clear blue sky, not a cloud in sight, and the air already warm at nineteen degrees. By the time I rolled out at 7:30 in the morning, the day felt calm one of those rides where there’s no rush, just road ahead.

Leaving Port Pirie behind, the landscape slowly opened up. I passed through Winninowie Conservation Park, then rolled past North Stirling and the Australian Arid Lands Botanical Garden. The roads stretched endlessly straight, disappearing into the horizon, reminding me just how vast this country really is.

As I pushed on through Whyalla and Cowell, the temperature climbed to a comfortable twenty three degrees. A strong easterly sea breeze kicked in, cooling everything down and making the ride feel effortless especially as the coastline began to appear.

A stop at Tumby Bay gave me a chance to refuel, stretch my legs, and take it all in. Back on the bike, the road delivered one of those unexpected moments a train passing by, perfectly timed, rolling through the landscape as I rode alongside it.

The final stretch into Port Lincoln was pure enjoyment. Coastal views, open road, and that feeling you get when a good day on the bike comes together just right. No drone footage today the wind had other ideas but sometimes the best moments are the ones you experience, not the ones you capture.

By the time I arrived in Port Lincoln, the sun was low, the breeze still strong, and Day 11 was done. Another chapter complete. More road ahead.
