A Journey of Love, Loss and Legacy
When George Talbot lost his beloved wife Gaynor to cancer in April 2025, he faced a choice: surrender to grief or transform it into something meaningful. He chose the latter.
Now, George is embarking on an extraordinary series of motorcycle expeditions across the globe, starting with a 22-day ride from Sydney to Perth across the Australian outback. But this isn't just about miles on a map, it's about honouring Gaynor's adventurous spirit, scattering her ashes in the places she dreamed of seeing, and raising vital funds for the hospice that cared for her with dignity and compassion in her final days.
And you can be part of this journey.

Why Strathcarron Hospice Matters
When Gaynor needed care most, Strathcarron Hospice provided more than medical support they offered comfort, dignity and unwavering compassion. This Falkirk-based hospice has been serving patients and families across Scotland for decades, providing specialist palliative care completely free of charge whilst the cost to provide this service is over £19,000 per day. The government contributes to only a third of this amount.
They rely on charitable donations to continue their life-changing work. The care they provided didn't just support Gaynor; it gave George precious final moments filled with love rather than fear. That kind of compassion is priceless and it's only possible because of supporters like you.
Our Mission: Turning Sorrow into Strength
George's mission is threefold:
- Honour Gaynor's Memory – By fulfilling her final wish that he keep travelling, experiencing life, and chasing adventures. Gaynor's ashes will travel with George, scattered in beautiful locations across the world she longed to explore.
- Raise Awareness & Funds – To ensure Strathcarron Hospice can continue providing exceptional end-of-life care to families facing their darkest hours. Many people don't know about the vital services hospices provide until they need them. We're changing that.
- Inspire Others – To show that even amid profound loss, we can choose purpose over despair. George's journey demonstrates that grief and gratitude can coexist, and that one person's pain can become another family's comfort through charitable action.
Our Values: The Road Ahead
- Authenticity – This campaign isn't polished marketing. It's raw, honest, and born from lived experience. George's story is real, his grief is real, and his commitment to making a difference is unwavering.
- Community – Just as Gaynor's infectious personality drew people together, this journey is about building a community of supporters who believe in compassionate care and second chances. When you buy a ticket, you're not just entering a raffle — you're joining a movement.
- Adventure & Resilience – Life taught George that persistence pays off, and his father's lesson — "never give up" — guides everything we do. We're taking the long road, quite literally, to show that beauty and purpose exist even after loss.
