Day Fifteen

Rode through Eucla National Park.

Day 15, 30/12/2025

Day 15 started under an overcast sky at around 20 degrees, with strong winds that stayed with me all day. By the time I finished, it had warmed slightly to about 22 degrees, but the headwind made the ride feel much tougher than the distance suggested.

I fuelled up early and left the Eucla Motel at 6:45 a.m., hoping to stay ahead of the worst of the wind. Riding through Eucla National Park and down to the abandoned lighthouse was a highlight quiet, remote, and a reminder of just how isolated this part of the country is. From there, the Nullarbor Plains opened up into long, straight roads that seemed to roll on forever.

Day 15

Midway through the day I stopped for a juice and changed the batteries on my cameras, which ended up being my best photo moment. Despite the wind, I managed to get the drone up for short flights over the dunes and hilltops, capturing wide views whenever conditions allowed. I also recorded a couple of videos, including an afternoon talk where I shared how I was feeling after hours of riding into the wind.

After covering about 350 km in just under six hours, with one fuel stop, I arrived at Caiguna Motel Road Stop for the night. This stop was all about rest and preparation, with a big day ahead 456 km tomorrow, starting with the Great Australian Straight. Total distance now sits at 5151 km, with around 75% of the journey complete.
